Camp Staff

Our Staff is selected for their fine reputations and their ability to work with young players. Coaches teach at all levels of play and emphasize good sportsmanship and citizenship.

We provide a balance of experienced, senior staff members and enthusiastic, current college players & recent college graduates. Their credentials are outstanding: All-Americans, Hall of Famers, Coaches of the Year, All World players, and professional box players!

Dud Hendrick: Founder of Cardigan Lacrosse Camp-Celebrated his 40th year as Director in 2016

Dud was set on creating an unique learning environment, which fostered the development of certain characteristics that he held in highest regard. Dud is a member of Veterans for Peace.

Scott Anderson: Director

Harvard Ass’t Athletic Director and Facilities Manager. Former Head Coach at Harvard – former Captain and standout at Dartmouth – played in North-South Collegiate All-Star Game – Ass’t Coach at Cornell during NCAA championship in 1970’s. Led Harvard to ’88, ’90, and ’06 NCAA games.

Chuck Apel: Director

Head Coach Bridgewater-Raritan H.S. (NJ) – 1998, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2022 State Champs – NJ TOC State Champs 2011, 2012, 2015 - NILCA 2015 HS Coach of the Year- Head Coach of USA U-19 2008 World Champions – former Rutgers All-American – 13 times New Jersey Coach-of-the-Year – Honored by 4 Hall of Fames:  NJ Lacrosse Hall of Fame – NJSIAA Coaches Hall of Fame-  LI Metro Lacrosse Hall of Fame- NILCA Coaches Hall of Fame- over 500+ wins

Matt Apel: Director

Ass’t Coach at Bridgewater-Raritan H.S. (NJ)— 2022 New Jersey Lacrosse Person of the Year.  NJ Lacrosse Coaches Association President 2021-present. 2017 NJ Assistant Coach of the Year - former standout attackman at Rutgers — NJ High School All-American - Played with Sturt Lacrosse Club in Adelaide, Australia.

Ace Apel: Assistant Coach Watchung Hills (NJ)

Assistant Coach at Watchung Hills (NJ) Former Assistant Coach at Ridge H.S. (NJ) Former Head Coach at Madison H.S. (NJ) – former Head Coach at Watchung Hills – past President NJ Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Ass’n – former player at Rutgers.

Charlie Burch: Head Coach University of New England

Won 9 Maine H.S. state championships over 24 years at Cape Elizabeth and Kennebunk H.S. – 2013 Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the year – 6-time Maine State Coach-of-the-Year – 2009 US Lacrosse National Man of Year.

Ryan Frost: Cardigan Mountain School Director of Athletics

Former A.D. at the Kinkaid School (TX) – former Ass't Coach at Springfield College – former captain and standout middle at Franklin and Marshall.

Alex Gray: Cardigan Head Coach Cardigan Mt. School

Former standout and Captain at St. Lawrence Univ. – coached and played in Australia.

Randy Hobbs: Former Head Coach Kent School

Former Dartmouth College defenseman – 1st team All-Ivy and New England – North-South game selectee 1989 – President, New England Association of Prep School Lacrosse Coaches

Rob Low: Cardigan Head Coach Cardigan Mt. School

Coach and Athletic Director at the Groton School – former standout at Plymouth State – Northern New England Lacrosse League Coach-of-the-Year 2001 – Man-of-the-Year 2003. 

Jared McMahon: Asst. Coach at Bucknell University

Former standout at Mount Saint Mary's - 1st Team All-MAAC 2023

Jay Ouellet: Head Coach at Brewster Academy

Former Head Coach at Western Conn. State University – former Ass't at Yale – 2 time All Patriot League at Hobart College – 2001 North-South Game – 2008 Little East Coach of the Year.
